Window and Door Repair Services on Long Island
Glass, wood, hardware and doors, repaired in your home. We inspect the whole window first and give you a written quote before any work starts.
What do you need fixed?
Repair-first window and door service across Suffolk & Nassau County
Many window and door problems don't need full replacement. A failed glass unit, loose lock, rotted sill, worn operator, broken balance or dragging patio door can often be repaired when the main frame is still sound, with less disruption to trim, siding and paint than tearing out the whole window.
Glass
Glass, foggy windows and IGU repair
Foggy glass usually means a failed insulated glass unit (IGU). If the frame is solid, we replace the glass, not the window.
Glass Replacement
Cracked panes and failed glass units replaced in your existing frame, from $300.
Foggy Glass Repair
Moisture between the panes? A new sealed unit clears it for good.
Sidelight Glass
Door sidelights, including patterned and privacy glass.
Sunroom Windows
Glass, seals and hardware for sunroom windows.
Stained Glass
Repair, restoration and new stained glass panels.
Glass Cutting
Custom glass cut to size for windows, doors and furniture.
Wood & rot
Wood window repair and rot restoration
Soft wood, peeling paint and open joints spread when they are left. If the structure is sound, we remove the rot and rebuild the damaged section.
Wood & Rotten Window Repair
Rotted sills, sash and frame edges rebuilt instead of replaced.
Historic Windows
Original wood windows restored: sash, glazing, weatherstrip and hardware.
Window Reglazing
Failed glazing putty replaced so older glass is sealed and secure.
Window Recaulking
Air and water leaks sealed, after checking for hidden rot.
Hardware
Hardware, locks and operating parts
A window that won't crank, lock, tilt or stay up usually has a worn part or an alignment problem. We stock many original and brand-compatible parts.
Cranks, Balances & Locks
Operators, balances, hinges and locks, often fixed on the first visit.
Window Adjustment
Sticking, drafty or misaligned sash brought back into line.
Jalousie & Louver Windows
Louver blades, operators and glass slats.
Screens
Torn mesh, bent frames and screen doors repaired or replaced.
Retractable Screens
Custom retractable screens for doors and windows, fitted to the opening.
Doors
Door repair and adjustment
Most door problems come from hinge movement, worn rollers, a shifted threshold or a misaligned lock, not a failed door.
Sliding & Patio Doors
Rollers, tracks, locks and glass for doors that drag or won't lock.
Door Adjustment
Doors that scrape, drag, leak air or miss the latch.
Storm Doors
Storm doors that slam, stick or no longer seal.
Dog Doors
Pet doors fitted in doors, glass and panels.
Cabinet Doors
Sagging or misaligned kitchen cabinet doors adjusted.

Window types
Window and door types we service
Different windows fail in different ways. A double-hung may need a balance, a casement an operator or hinge, a slider new rollers, an awning a crank or lock.
Brands
Door & window brands we repair
The wrong operator, lock, balance or roller causes repeat failures, so we identify the brand, part profile and glass specification before choosing the repair.
What we check during a repair visit
We inspect the opening as a full system, so you know what failed and why.
- Glass condition and IGU seal failure
- Sash movement and balance support
- Frame strength and wood condition
- Locks, operators, rollers, hinges and handles
- Weatherstripping and seal compression
- Exterior caulk and water entry points
- Screen condition and frame fit

What homeowners say
Very fast and reliable service. They even fixed another issue for no extra charge! Would definitely go straight back to them if I have any other issues.
I ordered a few pieces of glass for a partition wall and they were installed correctly and in the timeframe they stated. Their customer service is great and easy to get in touch with. I'd highly recommend Prestige.
Just had prestige come and fix another window. No surprises, just good solid work and professionalism. Excellent job !
Repair questions
What is the average cost to repair a window?
Most repairs cost between $300 and a few thousand dollars. Replacing a single pane or glass unit starts at $300; rebuilding a rotten wood window costs more, but usually about 20% of what a new replacement window would. You get a written quote before any work starts.
Can you repair my windows instead of replacing them?
Usually, yes. If the frame is sound, we replace foggy or broken glass, rebuild rotten wood and fix cranks, balances and locks for a fraction of replacement. If a window is past saving, we'll tell you.
Can you fix a window with a broken seal?
The seal itself can't be re-glued reliably. The permanent fix is a new insulated glass unit in your existing frame, which clears the fog for good and costs far less than a new window.
