Door & Window Repair in Jericho, NY
Free on-site estimate. Licensed and insured in Nassau and Suffolk, with offices in Manhasset and Hauppauge.
Jericho is a hamlet of about 14,800 residents on Nassau County's North Shore, mostly in the Town of Oyster Bay, bordered by Syosset, Woodbury, Old Westbury, Westbury, and Hicksville. It's home to Jericho High School, ranked among the top 1% of public schools in New York State.
That school district draws sustained demand for larger, updated homes, and median home values here run close to $950,000. A large share of Jericho's housing has been renovated or expanded well beyond its original footprint, often with oversized glass and large sliding walls added during the process.
Prestige Window Works has served Jericho from our Manhasset office since 2014, repairing everything from original wood sash on premium brand windows to large-format glass installed during additions. Call 516-908-8005 for a free on-site estimate anywhere in Jericho.

Dennis HernandezJericho Window & Door Issues
Jericho's repair calls split fairly evenly between two categories that don't usually overlap in less affluent towns: original wood windows on premium brands that are simply old, and much newer, larger-format glass installed during a renovation or addition. Here's what we see most in both categories.
Rotted Wood Sash on Premium Brand Windows
A high price tag doesn't make a wood window immune to rot; premium brands like Andersen and Marvin still use real wood sash that needs the same maintenance as any wood window once it passes the 20-year mark. We addressed exactly this on a documented Jericho project involving a rotten Marvin wood window frame, where our team measured the decayed sections, rebuilt them with matching material, and reinforced the frame rather than replacing the unit outright. Our rotted window repair service takes the same approach on any wood frame, regardless of brand or price point.
Foggy IGU Glass in Additions & Renovations
Windows and glass walls added during a renovation in the 1990s or 2000s are now old enough for their factory seals to start failing, which shows up as permanent fog or haze trapped between the panes. On a large-format installation, that failure is often more visually obvious than on a standard-sized window simply because there's more glass surface to show it. Our glass replacement service replaces the glass unit only, sized to the original opening, with a 10-year warranty on the new IGU.
Oversized Sliding Door Wear
Great-room additions and rear expansions common in Jericho often include large sliding glass doors or multi-panel sliding walls, and the hardware on these units carries more weight per panel than a standard patio door. That extra load wears rollers and tracks faster than on a standard-sized slider, especially if the unit sees daily use. Our window adjustment service resets rollers and realigns tracks, specified for the heavier hardware these larger units use.
Custom & Arched Window Glass
Executive-style homes in Jericho frequently include architectural details like arched transoms, palladian windows, or custom-shaped glass above a standard window, features that don't come in stock replacement sizes. When one of these breaks or fails, a standard-sized replacement simply won't fit the opening. Our glass cutting service produces glass to your exact shape and dimensions rather than the nearest catalog size.
Storm Door and Window Misalignment
Frame settling over the decades shifts storm windows and doors out of square, and on a larger custom home with more openings, that drift shows up more often simply because there's more window and door hardware to maintain. Our storm door installation and adjustment service resets the hardware so the unit seals correctly again.
Caulk and Weatherstrip Failure
Perimeter caulk on Jericho's older wood-framed windows breaks down over time like it does across the rest of Nassau County, opening a path for drafts and moisture alongside any cracked glazing compound. Our window recaulking service reseals the full frame perimeter with sealant built to hold up under repeated seasonal cycling.
How We Handle Door & Window Repairs in Jericho
Every job starts with a free, on-site estimate, where we identify whether the issue is wood decay, a failed seal, hardware wear, or misalignment, and probe any wood that looks suspect before recommending a fix. For large-format glass or oversized sliding doors, that estimate also includes confirming the correct hardware rating and glass handling requirements before scheduling the work. Most estimates are scheduled within 24 to 48 hours of your call.
Standard single-window repairs are usually finished in one visit. Large-format glass replacement, custom-shaped glass fabrication, or extensive wood sash restoration may take longer if materials need to be custom-ordered or fabricated to size; we'll tell you upfront if that applies to your project. Our technicians are available Monday through Friday from 9am to 9pm and Saturdays from 9am to 7pm, with same-day appointments often available for urgent situations.

Large-Format Glass for Additions & Renovations
Jericho's renovation activity is well documented in local real estate coverage, driven largely by the school district: families buy into Jericho specifically for Jericho High School, and once here, many choose to expand or fully rebuild rather than move again. That pattern shows up directly in the glass and window packages we're asked to service, oversized IGUs in great rooms, multi-panel sliding walls opening onto a patio, and floor-to-ceiling window banks that didn't exist on the original 1950s and 1960s homes many of these properties started as.
Large-format glass changes the maintenance math in a real way. A standard window's IGU seal failing means replacing one modest pane; a great-room wall's seal failing means sourcing and handling significantly larger, heavier glass, often requiring more than one technician and specialized handling equipment to install safely without cracking the unit during the swap. Sliding hardware on these installations is built to a higher weight rating than standard patio door hardware, and using standard-grade replacement parts on an oversized panel is a common mistake that leads to a repeat failure within a year or two.
If your home has gone through a renovation or addition with large-format glass, it's worth having that glass and hardware serviced by a company that stocks the heavier-rated components rather than treating it like a standard-sized repair. We keep both standard and large-format hardware in stock for exactly this reason.

Why Choose Prestige Window Works in Jericho
Prestige Window Works has repaired windows and doors on Long Island since 2014, completing more than 6,000 projects across Nassau and Suffolk County, and our documented work in Jericho itself, not just similar towns nearby, includes premium-brand wood frame restoration handled without pushing an unnecessary full replacement. We're a licensed Nassau County home improvement contractor, holding Nassau County Consumer Affairs Home Improvement License #204701 for doors and windows, verifiable directly through Nassau County Consumer Affairs.
Because Jericho's housing mix includes both original premium-brand wood windows and newer large-format renovation glass, our vans carry both standard hardware and heavier-rated components for oversized sliding panels, so a great-room slider doesn't get serviced with parts built for a standard patio door. We back every wood window repair with a 5-year workmanship warranty and every replacement IGU with a 10-year warranty, and we'll tell you plainly at the estimate if a repair genuinely isn't the right call, which is rarer than most homeowners expect, even on a decades-old original window.

Door & Window Brands We Repair in Jericho
Jericho's housing stock includes a higher share of premium window brands than many Nassau towns, and we service all of them without pushing an unnecessary upgrade. Our documented Jericho window repair involved a Marvin wood window frame, and we regularly work on Andersen 400 and 200 Series units, along with Pella windows installed during renovations and additions. For homes with original wood sash predating any renovation, our historic window restoration service preserves the original mechanism rather than replacing it outright.

THE MOST POPULAR QUESTIONS
Who does window repair in Jericho, NY?
Prestige Window Works serves Jericho from our Manhasset office, with documented experience restoring premium-brand wood windows in the hamlet. Call 516-908-8005 for a free on-site estimate, typically scheduled within 24 to 48 hours.
My Andersen or Marvin wood windows are more than 20 years old, do they need to be replaced?
Not necessarily. Premium wood windows still use real wood sash that can rot or wear like any wood window, but the frame is often salvageable well past 20 years. We probe the actual wood condition at the estimate before recommending replacement over repair.
Can you service the large sliding glass walls installed during our renovation?
Yes. Large-format sliding doors use heavier-rated hardware than standard patio doors, and we stock components built for that weight rather than standard parts that wear out faster on an oversized panel.
Do you make custom or arched glass for architectural windows?
Yes. We cut glass to your exact shape and dimensions for arched transoms, palladian windows, and other custom openings that don't fit stock replacement sizes.
Will upgrading to laminated glass actually reduce traffic noise near Jericho Turnpike?
Yes, meaningfully. Laminated glass uses a vinyl interlayer that dampens sound vibration more effectively than a standard IGU of similar thickness, and upgrading the glass in an existing frame is usually more cost-effective than replacing the whole window.
Are you licensed for window repair in Nassau County?
Yes. Prestige Window Works holds Nassau County Consumer Affairs Home Improvement License #204701 for doors and windows, verifiable directly through Nassau County Consumer Affairs. Ask your estimator for details during your free on-site visit.
