Window Glass Replacement
At Prestige Window Works, we recently handled a broken window glass replacement for a homeowner in Oyster Bay. The window, located in the family room, had been damaged during a recent storm. Because of the shattered glass, the homeowner was concerned about safety and energy loss. As soon as we received the call, we prioritized the job to restore comfort and security to the home.
When we arrived, our first step was to carefully remove the remaining broken glass. In addition, we inspected the window frame for any signs of damage. In this case, the frame was in good condition, allowing us to move forward with glass replacement without any structural repairs. Whenever a frame is damaged, it can lead to further complications, but here we could focus solely on the glass.
Next, we discussed glass options with the homeowner. They wanted something that would not only restore the window but also improve energy efficiency. We recommended double-pane, insulated glass. This option helps maintain indoor temperature, especially in a town like Oyster Bay, where seasonal changes can be extreme. Not to mention, double-pane glass is also great for noise reduction, which was important since the home was near a busy street.
We took exact measurements of the window to ensure a custom fit for the new glass. The installation process was quick and seamless. After placing the new double-pane glass, we applied a high-quality sealant around the edges to prevent drafts and moisture. This step is crucial, especially in Oyster Bay, where humidity can cause long-term damage if not properly sealed.
Once the new glass was installed, we tested the window for smooth operation and checked that there were no gaps or leaks. The homeowner was pleased with the results, especially the improved insulation and noise reduction. They immediately noticed a more comfortable indoor environment and increased peace of mind due to the enhanced security.
