Andersen Window Glass Replacement
At Prestige Window Works, we know how important it is to have strong and damage-free windows. A recent project in Cedarhurst had us replacing shattered Andersen window glass for a homeowner who needed immediate help. The window had been cracked due to impact, making the basement vulnerable to drafts, debris, and security risks. They wanted a fast solution, and we were ready to provide a seamless glass replacement.
When we arrived, we assessed the damage carefully. The Andersen window had a large circular break, with cracks spreading outward across the glass. Small glass fragments had begun to loosen, which made the situation more urgent. Since basements are prone to moisture buildup, leaving the damage unattended could lead to further issues. In Cedarhurst, where seasonal weather changes can affect window durability, fixing this window promptly was the right decision.
Our first step was to remove the remaining broken glass safely. We ensured that no shards were left behind, keeping the surrounding frame intact. Once the area was fully cleaned, we measured the window precisely to ensure a perfect fit for the replacement glass. Accuracy is crucial when working with Andersen windows, as even slight misalignment can affect functionality.
Next, we installed a high-quality replacement pane that matched the original glass. We used professional-grade sealants to secure it in place, preventing future leaks or shifting. Proper sealing is key to protecting against weather exposure, especially in Cedarhurst, where fluctuating temperatures can impact window frames over time. Once the glass was set, we tested the window for stability to ensure a flawless finish.
The homeowner was thrilled with the result. The once-damaged window was now fully restored, with a secure and polished look. Seeing the difference between the broken and newly installed glass made a huge impact—they no longer had to worry about drafts, safety risks, or an unsightly basement window.
