How much does it typically cost to fix a window?
Most repairs cost between $300 and a few thousand dollars. Replacing a single pane or glass unit starts at $300; rebuilding a rotten wood window costs more, but usually about 20% of what a new replacement window would. You get a firm price at a free estimate before any work starts.
How can I fix a broken double pane window without replacing the entire window?
We replace just the sealed glass unit, not the window. We measure it, order the unit to size (matching Low-E, tempered glass or grids) and install it in your existing sash. Glass-unit installations carry our 10-year warranty.
Is a broken house window covered by insurance?
Often, for sudden damage such as storms, accidents or break-ins, after your deductible. Wear such as fogged seals or rot usually isn't covered. Check with your insurer; we can give you a written estimate and photos for the claim.
Is it cheaper to repair or replace a window?
Usually repair. If the frame is sound, we replace foggy or broken glass, rebuild rotten wood and fix cranks, balances and locks for a fraction of replacement. If a window is past saving, we'll tell you.
