Upgrading to Tempered Safety Glass
As noted above, sidelights within 24 inches of a door handle are required by current building code to be glazed with tempered safety glass. Many older Long Island homes have standard annealed glass in their sidelights. We replace it with code-compliant tempered glass as a standalone upgrade.
